This article was written to explore and expand on the 6th area of the future Yudae Wellness facility; the Mindfulness Zone. You will learn more about the 6th dimension of wellness called Mindfulness and why a space for Mindfulness is essential in a modern workplace and wellness setting.

The goal is to immediately feel a sense of calm.

When designing a space as for people to take a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life is to understand what goes into a peaceful environment.

With soft lighting, low music, and open seating, the goal is to establish the perfect balance of security and comfort.

At Yudae, we find that wellness involves its own sort of balance between the physical, mental, and emotional states of being.

Our plan to develop the Yudae Wellness Mindfulness Zone was a response to the American workforce seeking a workspace that would aid the heath instead of hurt it.

Yes, were talking to you, giant skyrises made of nothing but floors of cubicles and rows of open-seating desks.

In contrast, we designed the Mindfulness Zone as a space to facilitate the achievement of mental and emotional wellbeing.

But we weren't the only ones to realize the importance of having spaces for people to relax and unwind as part of their daily work routine.

As more and more companies issue return-to-work policies, its increasingly important for developers and employers create a space dedicated to mindfulness (i.e. relaxation and meditation practice).

At the essence of mindfulness lays 3 powerful benefits for health & wellness.

Why mindfulness is essential?

Mindfulness is an essential aspect of wellness that is often overlooked. Mindfulness involves being fully present and engaged in the current moment, without judgment or distraction.

Mindfulness can help individuals reduce stress and anxiety, improve focus and productivity, and promote overall well-being.

A Mindfulness Zone is a space specifically designed for anyone to relax and unwind, with an emphasis on mindfulness and meditation.

The space is thoughtfully designed to provide a calming and peaceful environment that allows for introspection, reflection, and ultimately peaceful bliss.

The Yudae facility has a total of six dimensions of wellness, and the Mindfulness Zone is only one. Arguably one of the most important of the 6.

Designing a Mindfulness Zone

The Mindfulness Zone was designed with one goal in mind: create a peaceful environment where you can escape the stress of everyday life.

From the moment you step inside, you'll be surrounded by soothing colors, soft lighting, and comfortable seating.

Whether you want to meditate, reflect, or simply sit in silence, it's a space that is caters to the needs of conscious and aware individuals.

We've found that wall color affects mood in a significant way. In our design we went with a soft, calming blue-green color, which has been shown to have a relaxing effect on the mind and body.

The lighting is soft and diffuse, and there are comfortable chairs and cushions placed throughout the space. The overall effect is one of serenity and tranquility.

What is the value of a meditation space?

Mindfulness Zone's, such as the one were talking about here, provide a variety of activities and services that promote mindfulness and relaxation.

This ultimately benefits both the organization and individual by saying "hey, its okay to actually feel good while being at work".

Additionally it sends a clear message to all that "hey, we care about your mental health and we're willing to do something about it".

Any rendition of the Yudae Mindfulness Zone must be sure to provide a variety of services that help individuals achieve inner peace and tranquility.

The services include massage therapy, acupuncture, and other alternative therapies. These services are designed to complement the activities and workshops provided in the space, providing a holistic approach to wellness.

Some workplace meditation centers even include guided meditation, yoga, and mindfulness workshops on a semi-regular or bi-weekly basis.

At Yudae we value individual achievement and support those on the quest for lifelong health, so we designed ours to include a library of books and resources on mindfulness, meditation, and spiritual well-being.

We put our focus on designing a space for people to escape stress and chaos, and focus on mental and emotional health. We incorporated science-backed methods and took influence from some of the most popular wellness from minds like Andrew Huberman.

What we found was that a space like what we just outlined can help organizations and individuals achieve a greater wellness standard, increasing overall productivity for everyone.
